Can We Just Cut To The Chase?
As we have reached day 63 of the wingnuttery of the Republican party I had to stop and give some real thought about what the hell are they doing? Week after week it is a new accusation about what President Obama has caused or done (most of it beyond true). The Republicans seem to have no moral compass when it comes to continuously lying (such as Fox 24-hours-of-bullshit News). The fact that they use the religious right is contemptible but brilliant at the same time. Who better to use then people you neither believe in or respect? Do I think the republicans respect the religious right? Hell no. They are no more than a tool to meet an end. What is that end? Why the failure of President Barack Obama. Let’s face a truth here, what real viable party would used a several times divorced, pill busted, questionable sexual habit radio talk show host for their leader (Rush)? As would be the case with a lot of devout religious people they are closet (or open) racist and oppose most people’s civil liberties, even if they pretend they are constitutionalists for the further benefit of hiding behind their racism.
The knee-jerk Republican response to any question — from military service, to taxes, to bonuses — is to protect the wealthy. Wealth is their only religion. The GOP love to talk about Christian religion to stroke their evangelical base but they actually hate anyone who follows the historic Jesus who said: “It is easier for a camel to squeeze through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to get into the kingdom of God.” [Source: Frank Schaeffer]
So now we have the republican sheep forming Tea Bagging groups, Galt Groups and any other group touting their ignorance loud and clear. I say ignorance simple because the Republicans have cultivate racism throughout the decades with their approach of “us against them.” It probably worked well in a society that was predominately White, but I don’t think in a world that has so many ethnic groups that strategy is really getting through to the masses, not even White people are willing to continue to listen to that nonsense.
- The folks in the blogosphere largely cheerleading the Tea Parties are the same folks in the blogosphere who cheerleaded the war in Iraq. So apparently, government intervention to the tune of $650 Billion is okay to spend when it comes to an unnecessary war that in no way advances American interests, but not okay when it comes to building bridges, cutting taxes, helping state governments meet budget shortfalls, or making sure that Americans don’t get covered in lava. Gotcha.
- Some of the biggest proponents of the “Going Galt” bandwagon in the blogosphere and at Pajamas Media are Glenn Reynolds and his wife, both of whom have jobs (Professor of Law at a public university; forensic psychiatrist) that are dependent on public, taxpayer-funded institutions. Yet you have a few million that are trying to push the cause for the republican party. Trust me this crap is backed by a host of right wing conservatives. Of course the republicans would not do this type of dirty work themselves, but they will promote it. Just like Palin with her rhetoric for hate that was used to push some nut out there to possibly do away with the competition. Look at how much hate is spewed via the conservative radio. They would never commit such a heinous crime themselves, but all bets are off for prodding one of their crazies to do it for them. Take for example the recent Tea Baggers Protest in Florida.
You can see more of this wonderful protest here. The funny part is that, if you look over the pictures carefully, you will not see any other race but one (there are no Blacks, no Indians, No Asians, and No Hispanics. If there is any other race there, they are so minuscule you can’t even catch a picture of them). To make this protest more laughable (as if the term tea bagging wasn’t enough) is the simple fact that the protesters do not look like they are in the “earning a quarter of a million dollars” club. If such is the case, then what are they complaining about? What could the president have done to cause their ire? What have he done in 10 weeks that superseded Bush in 8 years? After all, let’s face reality, the republicans destroyed the economy, lost record amounts of jobs, destroyed our environment, done nothing about the looming cost of healthcare, outsourced, almost, our complete work force, have us in two wars (one totally pointless), let our infrastructure mildewed, threw science into the dark ages and had our kids suffer when it came to education. I repeat, what could the new president really have done in 10 weeks? On the record, President Obama have kick started less taxes for those people who earn less than $250,000, increased the Pell grant to assist children going to college, dedicated serious money to improving our infrastructure, has taken on healthcare and is making it possible for a lot of people that lost jobs to get new ones. Then why are they blaming him? Maybe a brief look at history will teach us what is really going on.
Robert Freeman writes: In early 1919, Germany put in place a new government to begin rebuilding the country after its crushing defeat in World War I. But the right-wing forces that had led the country into the War and lost the War conspired even before it was over to destroy the new government, the “Weimar Republic.” They succeeded.
The U.S. faces a similar “Weimar Moment.” The devastating collapse of the economy after eight years of Republican rule has left the leadership, policies, and ideology of the right utterly discredited. But, as was the case with Germany in 1919, Republicans do not intend to allow the new government to succeed. They will do everything they can to undermine it. If they are successful, the U.S. may yet go the way of Weimar Germany.
[sic]
They have adopted the strategy and tactics of the failed right wing plotters in Weimar Germany. First, stoke the resentment of the population about the increasingly dire state of its living conditions-no matter that those conditions were created by the very right-wing oligarchs who now pretend to befriend the little guy. Rage is rage. It is glandular and unseeing. Once catalyzed it is easy to turn on any subject.
Second, prevent the new government from succeeding in any meaningful endeavor. The Republicans have set all their efforts to doing everything they can to make sure the Obama administration fails. Rush Limbaugh’s infamous, “I hope he fails” pronouncement is only the beginning of the fomenting of hatred from the right. As Limbaugh said, “Let’s be honest. Every Republican in America is hoping for Obama’s failure.”
The same malignant hope oozes unadulterated from all the other Dogpatch Demagogues that rent themselves out to the Republican party to foment resentment against anything liberal: Joe the “Plumber,” Rick Santelli, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage, Ann Coulter, and virtually every other wing-nut operative whose intellectual stock in trade has been vaporized by the collision of right-wing policies with objective reality. [Source: PuppetGov]
That sounds just like what is going on with the Republican party right now. The clueless sheep are mindlessly following what ever fault their corrupt and bankrupt leaders with personal agendas dictate regarding the new administration. Of course it is embarrassing to see that we still have, so called intelligent, Americans that can be so ignorant, but such is life.
But for encouragement it should be noted that those wing nuts are not growing at the proportion that the republicans need for any one to listen to their constant moaning, lying, complaining, begging, or twisting of facts. How do I know? Well there is a new poll out that show we are not listening. Considering how hard the republicans have been trying to blame the AIG mess on President Obama (as if Bush did not issue the TARP agreement) that if we were listening then the polls would not read like this:
Nearly half of those surveyed (46%) say AIG management is “most to blame for the fact that these bonuses were paid.” Almost one in five (19%) finger Congress, while 8% blame Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and 7% say President Obama bears responsibility. [Source: USA Today/Gallup Poll]
Hm…seems like no matter what the wing nuts say, the republicans say or the in-the-tank-for-Obama media say, the people are not sipping the kool-aid.
Only thing I can say for this strategy is good luck with that.

Thanks for the link.
As someone who was actually there, I can tell you there were other races there. Leave it to a liberal to try to cry racist though.
You are more than welcome. Next time try to make sure to prove that fact by taking pictures of those other races. Or was it having them in the pictures would have blown the image? You do not need my help to keep your sheep hood going strong. I work, pay taxes and get screwed by the government. Difference is I know who the hell put the economy in the toilet. I do not need God to whisper in my ear to know the truth. I got the message years ago when the republicans let me know who really mattered and just where their failed policies were taking me.
I don’t need to cry racism since you people make it a point to go there all the time in your mindless walk into whatever pit your conservative rulers tell you to run to.
You probably see racism in terms of black against white. Sorry I go a lot deeper. Anyone that rains on other people’s civil rights is a racist. No matter the color, or racial background. No, I don’t think you need my help to get that fact out there. You and your tea baggers (you people really need to change that name since its insulting) were perfectly happy while Bush/Cheney/Rice were busy raping America but as soon as someone came along to improve our lot he’s a socialist. Sorry Bush beat him to that punch a long time ago.
That’s why, I know you do well enough without any liberal help to prove you are a bunch of racist against betterment of our country, trust me on that score.
Oh, maybe I should get Fox
24-hours-of-bullshitNews, or Bill-O, Sean Hanity, Rush Limbaugh or any of your other gurus to say that for it to have any truth?wRitErsbLock, Your link along with the photographer shows how very proud you are of those “other races” . And now you want to say, “As someone who was actually there, I can tell you there were other races there”. Please, you may find it easy to fool yourselves with that weak crap but not us.
looking back through my pictures, I see plenty of hispanic people, not the least of which is my Colombian family.
Funny, too, because one of the speakers opened with, “I am not an African American, I am an American!” But, even as I type that, I know you’ll say something like, great, three or four people of color, to try to prove your own point.
I don’t believe in god, so I don’t think it was a benevolent deity who whispered in my ear that the economy started tanking 2 years ago when the Democrats took control of the house and senate.
Enjoy your socialist dream. Enjoy your fearless leader bailing out your liberal friends who took out mortgages they cannot afford. Bush may not have been perfect, but at least he didn’t throw away money we don’t have immediately after taking office.
I’m not even going to waste time responding to that “I see plenty of ….” since you failed to post those pictures. Your word means nothing to me; therefore, I refuse to waste my time believing anything you have to say regarding the matter. Starting your conversation that way was very weak and somewhat pathetic.
Nor, am I interested in how your speaker started his speech off. Was that to make me feel…what? Life is very simple. If you have no racist issues why do you go on about it so much? I noted that there were no other races in your pictures. At least the ones you posted for the people to see. I have met some tea baggers that are racist (I will say this for the last time, since you seem to be just a little bit dense). I am not limiting the word to Black against White. Repressing other people’s rights is also racist. FYI, you do not have to be a devout Christian to be a racist, in case you didn’t know that.
How you feel about Bush is neither here nor there. He’s gone and not even you can rewrite that fucked up legacy. By making such an asinine statement, “Bush didn’t throw money around,” only shows you have no understanding of what has been going on for the past failed 8 years of that idiot’s presidency.
Let’s get back to your racist issues. Was there something you were trying to imply when you made the statement “liberal friends who took out mortgages they cannot afford.” You have no idea what tax bracket I live in or work in, much less, who the people that I associate with are; but, you were trying to insinuate what….?
You can call me all the names that will make you happy: socialist, fascist, communist, blah, blah, blah. That will not change the fact that you are living in a bubble of bullshit from your own creation. A point of fact is that I did not look at your picture and make one comment about who you could be or were, but you got your panties in a bunch and did, like most Tea Baggers do, went stupid on me and brought racism in as your excuse. I find you protest just a little bit to much over the issue for it not to be your issue.
WTF? looking over your posted pictures again I see very few if any people of any but one color. It really doesn’t matter how many people of color were there anyway.
* Fact 1. 99% of the pictures contain no people of color if there are any at all.
* Fact 2. You totally ignored Chamay0’s point because you only want to hear what you want to hear.
Your mind must be brainwashed and closed. You seem to be following the empty rhetoric that the GOP wants you to follow. Your support for Bush and his bailout (socialism in its most evil form) just shows how dumb down and misinformed you are. Bush was well in over his head with the deficit at the time he freely handed money to the big bankers with no regulations and no accountability.
By the way, Bush was the lunatic that hear God’s voice. Bush was the one to claim that he heard God whisper in his ear to go to war with Iraq, a war that was started on lies and inaccurate intelligence, which was nothing more than Bush throwing more money away that we didn’t have. No doubt he heard God tell him to torture prisoners of war for the excuse for that episode of America’s shame.
By the way, the original tea party had nothing to do with the foolish ranting the corrupt and desperate GOP is leading it’s sheep, like you, to believe. You need a good education in history, beginning at March 25, 2009 working your way backwards to January 20, 2000.
