Karl Rove concludes, “Tuesday’s election results reflect an anti-Washington, anti-Obama, anti-establishment feeling among voters, but they also reflect the candidates’ individual winning messages,” according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
Case-in-point says Rove is Kentucky’s GOP primary, where tea party activist Rand Paul won the Republican nomination to replace retiring Sen. Jim Bunning.
“Dr. Paul’s emphasis on fiscal issues trumped Mr. Grayson’s emphasis on biography. The sluggish economy, combined with Mr. Obama’s budget-busting agenda, sparked a populist reaction that Dr. Paul tapped with attacks on deficits, spending and special interests,” notes Rove.
The defeat of Republican-turned-Democrat Arlen Specter shows opportunistic politicians are rarely trusted or accepted, Rove concludes.

The republican lost. The district was a swing district and have a healthy history of going either way. Hell they had voted for McCain.
What happened? All this republican talk of taking congress back seems to have fallen apart, at least in that district. Honestly, I could barely see people really wanting to put the party of do nothing, fringe members and obstruction back at the helm.

Because, of course, with the GOP this is always about politics and nothing else. It’s never about the benefit of the American people.
Right now there is a group called American Family Association (AFA) — Don’t you just love how these bat shit crazy wing nuts give their organizations such loving names like American this, or American that? Fuckers. Apparently being qualified is not enough for those conservative full of shit organizations. They have to do what conservatives do best, enter some one’s private bedroom life.

Women did not gain the right to vote for over a hundred and thirty years.
These omissions were intentional. The record of the Framers’ debates on the slave question is especially clear: The Southern States acceded to the demands of the New England States for giving Congress broad power to regulate commerce, in exchange for the right to continue the slave trade. Republicans are questioning Elena Kagan’s ties to a liberal icon and the nation’s first African American Supreme Court justice, Thurgood Marshall.
In its first memo to reporters since Kagan’s nomination to the high court became public, the Republican National Committee highlighted Kagan’s tribute to Marshall in a 1993 law review article published shortly after his death.
Kagan quoted from a speech Marshall gave in 1987 in which he said the Constitution as originally conceived and drafted was “defective.” She quoted him as saying the Supreme Court’s mission was to “show a special solicitude for the despised and the disadvantaged.”
“Does Kagan Still View Constitution ‘As Originally Drafted And Conceived’ As ‘Defective’?” the RNC asked in its research document. (Source: The Hill.Com)
